New Providence Scholarship recipient
It is an honor to have been chosen as a recipient of the New Providence Lions Club Scholarship. This scholarship is not only greatly appreciated, but also very meaningful knowing the wonderful organization that has awarded it.
I am very fortunate to have grown up in New Providence and attend NPHS. I have worked hard and am proud of my academic achievements. I have also thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in activities outside the classroom such as playing on the NPHS varsity soccer and lacrosse teams. Most of all, I treasure the memories of fun times with the many lifelong friends that I have made.
I have decided to attend Rutgers University. For many years, I have wanted to attend this fine institution located right here in New Jersey. I am very familiar with Rutgers as my father is an alumni and I have enjoyed attending games and events over the years.
I am currently undecided about my major in college. It will likely be either Marketing or becoming a History teacher, as I love History.
Giving back and serving the community I know is a big part of what the Lions Club is all about. This is also important to me and something that I enjoy and look forward to doing more of in the future.
