The New Providence Lions Club has scheduled our 2023 Golf Fundraising event for Monday, June 12th at Shackamaxon Country Club; 100 Tillinghast Turn, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
The Lions and Shackamaxon Country Club are once again partnering to host our 26th Annual Golf Fundraiser. Shackamaxon, in nearby Scotch Plains, hosts one of New Jersey’s finest private 18-Hole Championship Courses. The Course was designed by Albert W. Tillinghast [named one of the great golf course architects by Golf Magazine] and he is world renowned for designing Baltusrol, Bethpage Black, Winged Foot, and Quaker Ridge. The Lions will once again honor Judge Frank A. Pizzi who established the Lions efforts supporting so many New Providence organizations through your donations and contributions to this Annual Fundraiser. Our Event will include a Continental breakfast at 7:30am, 9am Shotgun start for 18 holes of golf followed by a BBQ lunch on the newly renovated Terrace Grill and a social hour after golf including the Awards Ceremony.
Golfers will be competing in a Best Ball Foursome format and each player will be automatically enrolled for: 1) The Hole-in-One-Pack (4 Par 3s) and 2) A raffle for a Fiddler’s Elbow Golf & Lunch prize package. Multiple Golf Skill Contests are also included: Longest Drive (Men & Women) and Closest-to-the-Pin (Men & Women). There will also be a Cash 50 / 50 drawing and a Raffle purchase available for a Shackamaxon GC Foursome. For mail-in registrations, please have them in the mail no later than May 15th to ensure your enrollment.
Sponsorships for this year’s Event are available at several donation levels: 1) Breakfast Sponsor 2) BBQ Lunch Sponsor 3) Beverage Sponsor 4) Hole-in-One Prize Packages. Sponsors may also donate Gifts or Prizes for the Golf Skills Contests.
