NP Lions Club had two significant projects for the betterment of our community completed this fall. First, we rebuilt the back deck for William (Billy) Totten, a long standing member of the club and the President of the Union County Blind Association. Second, we sponsoring a pancake breakfast fundraising event to benefit Lucas Reilly. A young boy in New Providence that requires a significant amount of medical attention.Our Holiday party had record attendance. The annual 50-50 was a big success and we appreciate everyone's support.
Looking into 2014, we start off with being honored by the Borough of New Providence, in Grateful Appreciation and Recognition of your generous support of borough events and activities. The Suburban Chamber of Commerce named the New Providence Lions Club as the volunteer organization of the year.

Tuesday, August 5th
The final concert of the summer is scheduled to coincide with National Night Out. Besides hot dog duty, the Lions are one of the sponsors of a Playstation 4 to be raffled to one of the children in attendance. The Elefante Family Band will be the star performer along with displays and additional activities presented by the New Providence PBA, Fire Dept. and EMS.
Saturday, August 23rd
Members and significant others are invited to join Bill Totten and Sharon Alfonso as they host a party on Bill's new deck. Bill's residence is on Elkwood Avenue at the corner of Passaic Street. Party starts at 5 PM.
Note: We do not yet have an August Membership meeting scheduled and are looking for a volunteer to host the August meeting.
Regular meetings resume on Wednesday, September 3rd.
