Worlds Largest Volunteer Organization

The Lions with their local clubs with 1.50 million members make us the world's largest service club organization. We're also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

Home

Since 1917, local Lions clubs have offered people just like you the opportunity to give something back to their community. Today, with over 1.45 million men and women in more than 180 countries, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever increasing needs of our society. As a member of the New Providence Lions Club, you become aware of the needs of our community and have the advantage to effectively make a difference. Being a Lion empowers you to help others in a way that no one person could alone. Now more than ever, you can make a difference by participating in the New Providence Lions Club. Please join! The New Providence Lions Club donates 100% of every dollar we collect!

Happy New Year!

Our next big event is the International Night Party, January 27, at Lantern Hill. Members are asked to bring a food item to share, preferably an international type of food so members and guests can sample a selection of food types. Also, this is the event to invite potential new members (and their spouse) to enjoy the evening and meet the members of the Lions Club. The Tree Lighting ceremony at Centennial Park on December 1st was a fun event. Lions were busy handing out the hot chocolate and donut holes. Our Christmas party at Moe’s Bistro was a jolly good time. The downstairs banquet room was filled with Lions and their guests. All the raffle tickets were sold before the drawing.

Congratulations to Lion Bob Campbell who won the second place prize in the raffle. 2018 scheduled events include the International Night Party January 27th, the CSA Pasta Dinner February 25th, Union County Association for the Blind Meeting March 20th, annual Easter Egg Hunt March 24th, Memorial Day Parade May 28th, and the Annual Golf Outing June 4th Plans are underway for another Somerset Patriots outing in the summer. We are the largest volunteer organization in the world.  We have a very exciting schedule this spring and are expanding on our activities and reach to the community. I wanted to share a very special story about a NP Lion member that has been greatly impacted by Lionism.

General meetings are held at the Chimney Rock Inn located on Valley Rd. in Gillette, NJ  07933. We meet the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. New Providence Lions Club, P.O Box 854, New Providence, NJ 07974
